How to Use Viewabo

Launching a Viewabo session is easy. Here are the steps to follow:

Launch a Session

Step 1: Get your customer on board

Since Viewabo will be new to most customers, start by explaining why you want to use it and what you'll need from them. That might sound something like this:

"I would like to use a video support tool we have called Viewabo. It uses your phone's rear-facing camera to create a live video stream. I'll send you a link and all you'll need to do is click it and agree to share your camera."

IMPORTANT: ALLOW MICROPHONE

When your first Viewabo session starts, your browser may ask you to share your microphone. Be sure to ALLOW it so session recordings will include audio. Otherwise, none of your recordings will have audio.

Step 2: Decide how you'll send the Viewabo link

Click the "Start Stream" button. After you click, you'll see SMS and Email at the top, with a link to copy at the bottom.

Here's when we recommend using each:

  • SMS: This sends an SMS message to the customer mobile phone with a link.
  • Email: This sends an email with a link. The customer should open this link from their mobile phone. Use this method if SMS can't be used.
  • Link: Copy and paste the link and send it to the customer in a chat message or an existing email thread.

Step 3: Send the Viewabo link

To use SMS:

  • Enter the customer's phone number and country.
  • Click the Send button.

To use Email:

  • Enter the customer's email address.
  • Click the Send button.

To copy and paste the link:

  • Click the URL to copy the link to your clipboard.
  • Paste the link with Ctrl/Cmd + V.

What you see

After you click Send, a Viewabo window will appear on your screen. You'll see a message letting you know that Viewabo is waiting for your customer to connect.

What your customer sees

Your customer's smartphone browser will open a window letting them know the agent requests access to their camera and microphone.

Your customer needs to:

  • Agree to the Terms & Conditions, and
  • Agree to share their camera and microphone.

Step 4: Start solving your customer's issue using the live video stream

Once your customer grants the permissions requested by their smartphone, your Viewabo session will start immediately.

IMPORTANT: DON'T manually close the window

When you're done with a session, please be sure to hit the End button and wait for the window to close itself. Don't close the window manually. Doing so may interrupt the recording process and cause you to lose the last few seconds of your recorded session.
